At the onset of the project, we provide an estimated timeline and request feedback. Our aim is to complete the design as soon as possible so that you could start the process of transforming your environment.
-
Since each project has a different scope and levels of involvement, we work hourly and bill you at the end of the month for design services. You will receive a monthly report of the number of hours spent on your investment. Additionally, a service retainer is required to initiate the project.

We work on making the process of design simple and joyful. After collaborating with you and focussing on a single beautiful vision for your space, we provide technical drawings that show space configurations, furniture arrangements, cabinetry details, lighting ... to name a few. We source furniture, material, fabrics and finishes that give you a complete sense of your space before procurement begins. Additionally, we provide your contractor with drawings and specifications of items selected so that each detail is well accounted for.
-
We buy our furniture and furnishings from vendors who sell exclusively to design professionals. Because of our relationship and access to these vendors, we are able to find unique and customized pieces that are durable and fitting to your style. We don't shop together as our experience has shown us that the main point in hiring a designer is to have one person steering the ship. This helps keep the original vision alive throughout the project and lets the process run smoothly and effectively.

Meera Thomas Interiors has the expertise to help you design your space as a whole. We design elegant-comfortable interiors while reducing your decision fatigue and help save you time, energy and money. By prioritizing what is the most important and impactful, we guide you so that you can balance your investment as needed. Interior Designers receive training that facilitates new construction specifications or renovation of your existing space. Interior Designers provide an overall plan that takes into account a concept, the budget and the construction involved. If your project just includes furnishings, light fixtures and accessories, then 'decoration' is appropriate for your service. We at Meera Thomas Interiors are trained interior designers who also offer decorating services.

Either before or around the time of hiring an architect, builder or general contractor. We are here to guide you and be your advocate during the design process. With a designer on board, you will have your advocate taking charge of all the decisions and someone who knows exactly how the pieces fit together. In short, we help ensure you receive the fabulous result you are looking for.
-
Our team is your advocate and the liaison between all the various services involved: architect, contractor, and trades people. We communicate the information on the who, what, where and how of your home to the appropriate parties.
-
We go through various exercises and questionnaires to truly understand your aesthetic, wants and needs. We listen closely and gain clarity about what is important to you and how best your home could be a reflection of your true self. We use visuals to narrow down your design vision and make design suggestions and decisions accordingly.

As tempting as it is to shop on your own to save money in the midst of the design process, we find that it costs our clients in scale and quality mistakes. They end up buying items twice and experience frustration from all the extra costs involved.
If we know your intentions before the project begins, you are welcome to do your own purchasing. We ask that you show us your selections before the purchase is made. Incase we believe that items do not fit, we will let you know. Additionally you will be responsible for freight, delivery, installation, freight damages, returns and time spent in coordinating all of the services involved.

The simple straight forward answer is NO. What you get to see on TV is the result and not the process and the multiple people and decisions involved in getting there. Months and months of pre-planning on TV is consolidated within thirty minutes. A fabulous reveal is certainly our goal but it is based in real-time ... often six months out or more.

Investments typically start at $125 per square foot for furnishings, accessories and design fees. We walk you through an estimated investment based on our experience with interior design. We find that our clients have clarity on how much they would like to invest or how much a single item costs but may not know the reasonable cost for the multiple items needed to complete a design project. What you choose to invest is your choice and our goal is to work within that range. Please refer to this link, where Home Trust suggests typical investment guidelines for an interior design project.

Depending on the rooms size and other details, we can provide a proposal for you for a Master Plan for your project. Please note, we have a minimum of 3 rooms in scope of work to start a masterplan project.
If you’re ready to take the next step, please contact us so we can learn about your project and determine if we are a good fit. We look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
